Thomas Goar – CFP, RIA, Managing Partner


Tom Goar is the founder and Managing Partner of Seattle-area recruiting firms Viri Technology and Matrix Finance and Accounting, and brings nearly a decade of recruiting experience focused in the fields of finance, accounting and technology.

Prior to founding Matrix, Tom spent over 6 years as the top regional producer at a large international recruiting firm. Tom started his professional career with Price Waterhouse Coopers (Tampa and Atlanta offices) where he worked in Accounting and Consulting. He also worked for the prestigious consulting firm Index based out of their Cambridge office.

Tom’s consulting experience was focused on Fortune 500 clients in the public utility industry. Additionally, Tom has experience as a Registered Investment Advisor, Financial Planner and Money Manager.

Tom attended both the University of Florida and Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. Tom and his wife Emma have one son, Hunter. He is an avid Florida Gator fan and enjoys boating with his family.





Chris has been in the IT field for 10+ years, holding the roles of Software Engineer, Sr. Technology Recruiter, and founding partner.  He started his software career in the embedded and client applications arenas, developing inventory tracking systems using RFID chips. In the years since, he has had the opportunity to successfully serve companies like Expedia, Walt Disney Internet Group, Holland America, Wizards of the Coast and a host of startups in the Puget Sound. His hands on software development expertise has been invaluable in qualifying the most challenging roles for clients, and giving real world career advice to fellow IT consultants. He has lead teams to “vendor of the year” status, and performed in the top 5% of his recruiting peers for the last 5 years with his “relationships first” approach.

His professional credentials and contributions include serving on the advisory board for the UW Ruby on Rails Certification course, partnerships and speaking engagements with several local universities and he holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University. 

In his spare time, Chris plays sax and vocals for several local groups, and enjoys hiking, ultimate frisbee, and getting lost in a good RTS or MMO video game. He and his wife Olivia are the proud parents of two girls, and happily make their home in Seattle.
